Our Technology
Processing
Golden Fields adopts a dry mechanical processing method, avoiding additives and chemicals. After meticulous cleaning, peas and beans undergo dehulling, and the resulting kernels are finely milled. An air centrifuge then separates the powder into protein and starch fractions. These flours can be directly packed or further processed for enhanced functionality. The hull is milled to various particle sizes, possibly undergoing heat treatment. Golden Fields offers pristine pea fiber, and our processes produce no wastewater, with all materials efficiently recycled. While reducing resource usage compared to animal protein production, our commitment to sustainability underscores responsible practices throughout the process.

Energy
Producing 1 kilogram of pea protein concentrate consumes about 3-4 times less energy than producing 1 kilogram of beef and approximately 5-10 times less energy than producing 1 kilogram of dairy. This underscores the energy efficiency of our pea protein concentrate, offering a sustainable and environmentally responsible alternative to traditional animal protein sources.
Land
The cultivation of legumes for protein concentrate demands considerably less land compared to conventional animal agriculture, as legumes can be grown on land unsuitable for animal grazing. This highlights the land efficiency of our legume protein concentrate, providing an environmentally sustainable alternative that minimizes the need for expansive grazing areas.
Water
Greenhouse gas emissions
The manufacturing of legume protein concentrates results in notably reduced greenhouse gas emissions when compared to animal protein production. Legumes serve as a low-emission protein source, offering an environmentally friendly alternative, especially considering the substantial contribution of animal agriculture to global greenhouse gas emissions.
